Haircut in Chelsea, Manhattan

Book Your Appointment About Haircut

Dubé New York cuts hair at 120 W 25th St in Chelsea, on West 25th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. Our haircut starts with a real conversation about how you wear your hair, then a cut shaped to your texture and your morning routine. Every stylist on the team books it, and consultations are complimentary, in person or by video call.

Why is it hard to find a New York haircut you're happy with?

Usually it's time. A rushed chair means the stylist cuts the photo, not your hair. Your cowlick, your part, the way your hair dries on a humid walk to work: those get skipped. The cut looks fine in the salon and falls apart by day three.

We built this salon around quality over quantity, and we are not a high volume salon. Your stylist has room to ask questions, watch how your hair falls and check balance as they go. That's where a cut you like for months comes from.

City hair also gets a lot thrown at it: a hat on a cold commute, steam on the train platform, wind off the avenues. A good cut accounts for that. It should still look like a shape after you pull a beanie off or dash through the rain, not a guess you have to fix in the office bathroom.

Hailey is a good place to start. She was born and raised in Manhattan and focuses on modern haircutting, so she knows how city hair has to behave. Meet her on Hailey's page.

What does a haircut here look like from start to finish?

  • The talk: what you love about your current cut, what you're tired of, and photos if you have them.
  • The cut: shape, weight and layers placed around how your hair falls.
  • The check: you look at the finished shape together and talk through styling with the tools you already own.

The full details are on our haircut page. If your hair is long, thick or you want extra detail, choose the Precision Haircut instead. Pricing depends on the stylist and the cut you book, and it's all on the Service Menu.

How close is the salon to the 23rd Street trains?

Close. Four different 23 St stations are nearby: the F and M at Sixth Avenue, the 1 at Seventh Avenue, the C and E at Eighth Avenue, and the R and W at Broadway. The 1 also stops at 28 St on Seventh. The PATH 23rd St station at Sixth Avenue connects from Hoboken and Jersey City. Each leaves you a few minutes' walk from our door, and the Flatiron District is a short walk away.

Who should I book for my first cut?

Pick by focus. Hailey leans modern. Angela is known for long layers and textured cuts. Liza and Yulia also book this haircut. Founder Brianne specializes in precision, curly and textured cuts, but she's booking return clients only right now. Still unsure? A free video consultation sorts it out quickly. When you're ready, book your haircut online, any hour of the day.

New York questions

Can I book a Chelsea haircut before work or on a weekend?

Online booking is open around the clock, so you can see openings for each stylist whenever it suits you. Times vary by stylist and by day. If you have a tight window, pick the stylist first, then look for a slot that fits around your commute or your weekend plans.

What if my new haircut doesn't sit right after a few washes?

Tell the salon within one week and we'll book you a complimentary correction. Hair can settle differently once you dry it yourself, especially on humid days. Small refinements are usually simple, and we would much rather see you back than have you live with a shape you don't like.

Do I need to come in with clean hair for a haircut?

Not for the standard haircut. Come as you are, ideally with your hair styled the way you normally wear it, so your stylist can see your part and how it falls. The one exception is the Dusting Haircut, a dry trim of the ends that asks you to arrive with clean, dry hair.

Current pricing is on the Service Menu. Updated September 2026.
