Silver platinum blonde with loose waves at Dubé New York, New York NY

Protection built into your appointment

Color, lightening and everyday styling all put stress on your hair. A plex treatment helps your hair hold up to it. Dubé New York works with both Wellaplex and Olaplex, and your stylist chooses the right one for your hair and your service.

There are two ways to book it. As an add on, plex can be included with any service to help prevent damage or breakage, and it comes with a take home treatment so the care continues after you leave. As Plex + Blowdry, it becomes its own appointment: the treatment followed by a blowdry, a good choice when your hair needs care but you are not due for color.

Plex is a natural companion to lightening. It is also different from PuraLuxe Repair and Heal, a separate treatment that uses amino acids to fortify over processed hair. Plex is the flexible option you can fold into any visit.

Plex treatments are offered by Angela, Hailey, Liza and Yulia, and by founder Brianne Dubé for returning clients.

  • Added to any service

Plex is not limited to color. It can be added to any service on the menu to help prevent damage or breakage, so you can protect your hair during lightening, color, or a cut and style without booking a separate visit.

  • Care that goes home with you

The plex add on includes a take home treatment. The protection your stylist starts in the salon carries on in your own routine at home, which is especially helpful in the stretch after lightening or color.

  • A standalone option

Plex + Blowdry is its own appointment for when your hair needs attention between color services. You get the treatment and leave with a finished blowdry, a simple way to care for stressed hair and look polished at once.

  • Wellaplex or Olaplex

Dubé New York offers both. Your stylist chooses based on your hair and your service, so you do not need to know the difference before you book. Just add plex, and the choice is made with you.

More about Plex Bond Treatment

What to expect at your appointment

Start by telling your stylist about your recent history: lightening, color, heat styling, or breakage you have noticed. That helps them choose between Wellaplex and Olaplex and plan how plex fits into your visit.

As an add on, plex is worked into your service as planned for your hair, and you leave with your take home treatment and clear instructions. With Plex + Blowdry, your hair is treated and rinsed, then blown dry so you walk out finished.

Aftercare and maintenance

If you added plex to a service, use your take home treatment as your stylist directs. Pair it with gentle habits: heat protection before hot tools, a lower heat setting where you can, and a wide tooth comb on wet hair to reduce breakage.

If your hair is heavily lightened or feels weak, talk with your stylist about adding plex to future color appointments. For hair that is over processed, ask whether PuraLuxe Repair and Heal would be the better next step.

How pricing works

Plex is priced two ways: as an add on to another service, or as Plex + Blowdry on its own. The add on includes a take home treatment, pricing can vary by stylist, and your total depends on what you pair it with. See the Service Menu for current pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add plex to any service?

Yes. The Wellaplex or Olaplex add on can be included with any service on the menu to help prevent damage or breakage, and it comes with a take home treatment. Add it when you book online, or ask your stylist at your appointment.

What is the difference between Wellaplex and Olaplex?

Both are plex bond treatments used to help protect hair from damage and breakage. Your stylist chooses between them based on your hair and your service, so you do not need to pick one. Have a preference? Just mention it.

Should I add plex if I am lightening my hair?

It is a common pairing. Lightening puts real stress on hair, and plex is designed to help prevent damage and breakage along the way. Share your hair history with your stylist, who can tell you if plex makes sense for you.

How is plex different from PuraLuxe Repair and Heal?

Plex is a flexible treatment you can add to any service or book with a blowdry. PuraLuxe Repair and Heal is a separate treatment that uses amino acids to fortify over processed hair; it is not smoothing and uses no flat iron.

Can I book plex without any other service?

Yes. Plex + Blowdry is a standalone appointment: your hair is treated, then blown dry so you leave finished. It is a good choice between color services, or before a special occasion when you want your hair feeling its best.
