Just the ends, nothing more
Sometimes you do not need a new haircut. You like the shape, you are growing your hair out, or your last full cut is still holding, but the ends have started to look tired. A dusting is made for exactly that moment.
The salon keeps the rules for this service clear. It is a dry cut on clean, dry hair. It removes up to one inch and focuses on the ends only. There is no shampoo and no styling, so you arrive with hair already washed and dried the way you normally wear it, and your stylist trims from there.
That dry approach has a real advantage for simple trims. Your stylist sees your hair exactly as it sits day to day, so the ends are cleaned up in a way that matches your normal style. What a dusting is not for matters just as much: new layers, big length changes, precision shaping or anything that needs full service belongs in a standard Haircut or a Precision Haircut instead.
The Dusting Haircut is performed by Angela and Liza, along with founder Brianne for her returning clients. Angela is known for long layers and textured cuts, so she is a natural choice if you are growing out layered hair.
Is a dusting right for you?
-
Who it suits
Clients growing their hair out, anyone happy with their current shape, and people who want to keep ends healthy between full cuts or color appointments. If you want a noticeable change, new layers or a precise shape, book a full Haircut or the Precision Haircut instead.
-
What it does
It removes dry, split or tired ends while keeping as much length as possible, up to one inch off. Your shape stays the same, but your hair looks healthier and finishes more cleanly, especially at the perimeter where damage tends to show first.
-
What is included
A short conversation about how much to take off, followed by a dry trim of your ends only. There is no shampoo, no styling and no blowdry. You arrive with clean, dry hair and leave with it looking the way you normally wear it.
-
How it is different here
The salon is clear about what a dusting covers, so you know exactly what you are booking. It is performed by Angela, Brianne and Liza, and it sits alongside full haircuts rather than replacing them when your hair needs real reshaping.
More about dusting Haircut
What to expect at your appointment
Please come with clean, dry hair, styled the way you usually wear it. That lets your stylist see your natural fall and cut the ends to match. There is no shampoo at this appointment, so arriving with freshly washed, fully dry hair makes all the difference.
Your stylist will confirm how much you want removed, always within the one inch limit, then work through your ends while dry. Because nothing else is happening, the appointment is simple. If your stylist sees that your hair needs more than a dusting, they will tell you and suggest a full cut for next time.
Aftercare and maintenance
A dusting works best as part of a rhythm. Many clients alternate between full haircuts and dustings, keeping the shape fresh with a proper cut and the ends healthy in between.
Protect your ends between visits by using heat protection when you style and by being gentle when you brush wet hair. If your ends are dry from lightening or heat, ask about the plex treatment, which is designed to help prevent damage and breakage. Book your next dusting before your ends start to split further up the strand.
How pricing works
A dusting is its own simpler service, so it is priced separately from a full haircut. The main thing that affects what you pay is the stylist you choose. If you need more than the ends, such as new layers or a length change, a full Haircut or Precision Haircut is the right booking. See the Service Menu for current pricing.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to wash my hair before a dusting?
Yes. A dusting is a dry haircut with no shampoo, so please arrive with clean, dry hair. Styling it the way you usually wear it helps your stylist match the trim to your everyday look. Damp or unwashed hair makes it harder to see where the ends sit.
How much length will be taken off?
A dusting takes up to one inch off, and often less. It is meant to clean up the ends only. If you want more length removed, a new shape or a noticeable change, book a full Haircut or the Precision Haircut so your stylist has the right appointment for it.
Will my hair be styled after the dusting?
No. This service does not include shampooing, styling or a blowdry. Because you arrive with clean, dry hair styled your usual way, you leave looking much the same, with fresher ends. If you want a finished look for an event, add a blowout on another visit.
Can I get a dusting if I want layers added?
A dusting is not for new layers, precision shaping or dramatic changes. It only tidies your existing ends. For layers, book a full Haircut, or the Precision Haircut if your hair is long, thick or needs a detailed shape.
Is a dusting good for growing my hair out?
It is one of the best reasons to book one. Taking only a small amount from the ends removes damage before it travels up the strand, so you keep your length while your hair looks healthier. Many clients book dustings regularly while growing out.
